This weekend I headed out to Governor's Island with a couple of like-minded friends to check out the Fete Paradiso - the "world's first traveling festival of vintage carnival rides and carousels" which promised to be a "nostalgic, dream-like experience."
Wandering around the quaint little festival and riding some of the antique rides (and sometimes fearing they were going to fall apart or fling me out) was so much fun! What a great way to get back into childhood and with a little additional whimsy too. It would definitely be fun with a little kiddie not old enough to ride on the big rides at an amusement park but old enough to enjoy a little mild whizzing around on a merry-go-round - cousins, take note and come visit with your little scamps!
Merry-Go-Round at Fete Paradiso!
Perhaps an old-timey game at an antique carnival? Sure!
Way more difficult than it looks.
A quick ferry ride on a beautiful day. Why hello New York, nice to see you again!
And now I want to watch Midnight in Paris again...
How was your weekend?
