Mint Blossom Tea for the Sniffly Soul

A sickly Mai is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad Mai.
What to do? Smell the just blossoming mint flowers?


Naaaaah how 'bout we pop 'em into some tea instead with a couple of cloves and a few cardamom pods? Helps the mint plant grow bushier and I'm sure it can cure whatever blasted sniffly thing I've got right now. Much better for the populace at large too - prevents snapping off of heads in the general vicinity!




And a dash of honey to chase the aches and pains away? 


Much better! Smiles and cheer coming back any moment now...

P.p.s. if you come across any miele di castagno (chestnut honey), get it! Deliciously rich and flavorful,  and definitely something different from the run of the mill processed honey you find in supermarkets. We've got a jar D's parents got us from Italy and it's wonderful (and obviously almost over already)! Try drizzling some over a bowl of yogurt and granola for a lovely almost dessert-y breakfast (but healthy!), or of course, with a yummy cheese to match it's strong flavor profile. In fact, it might have been the perfect choice for today because apparently "chestnut honey has more antioxidants and greater anti-inflammatory properties than paler varieties"!! I even used it in making the honey butter for last weekend's afternoon tea party and it definitely added a yummy kick to the butter!
